Wildlands, Woodlands, Farmlands & Communities is a bold, achievable vision for New England that is rooted in science and is focused on securing a healthier, more livable planet for all.
The WWF&C vision calls for permanently protecting 80% percent of New England in a mixture of natural wildlands (at minimum 10%), productively-managed woodlands (60%), farmland (7%), and other (up to 2%). See the Dashboard for a breakdown of targets by decade for the region and each of the states it comprises. It is being advanced by a wide range of partners and committed individuals and organizations, including WWF&C co-leaders Highstead and The Harvard Forest, Harvard University.
Funding for WWF&C is provided by Highstead. Questions may be directed to info@wildlandsandwoodlands.org.
WWF&C is guided by leaders from a range of conservation organizations and education institutions across the region, including those below.
