Colleges and Universities across New England are conserving land and encouraging land conservation initiatives in partnership with communities in their region. To highlight working models and best practices for colleges and universities, ALPINE has compiled a series of short profiles of universities and colleges in New England and New York that are successfully advancing land conservation in a variety of ways.

In this case study, we narrate the story of one exercise deployed in this course, a night class in the forest, which has proven valuable for helping our students develop an affective connection with the natural surroundings.
